Charcoal has been hyped so much now-a-days that everyone is getting their hands on the products which has charcoal in it. And of course I am not behind of all. 😛 I have tried couple of products which has Charcoal in it. And trust me guys it was a real struggle to get hands on some really good products.
So, we all know how important it is to cleanse your face using a face wash. And it is a boon if your face wash has Charcoal in it. As charcoal is known to deep clean your pores by sucking out all the dirt and dust from your skin. I have used two face washes in which key ingredient is Charcoal.
Here comes a comparison blog post of WOW Skin Science Activated Charcoal Face Wash vs Aroma Magic Activated Bamboo Charcoal Face Wash (Both of these are chemical free).

WOW Retails for INR 349 for 100 ml (But I got it for INR 299. It is always on discount.)

Aroma Magic Retails for INR 195 for 100ml

Definitely Aroma Magic is much affordable compared to WOW.

Both WOW and Aroma Magic face washes are available easily online on many sites like Nykaa, Flipkart, Amazon, etc.

I am not very sure about the offline availability of these products.

Packaging:

WOW face wash comes in a transparent plastic bottle with a silver pump on the top which again has a transparent cap on it. The dispense of the product is controllable and is very travel friendly.

Aroma Magic face wash has normal black color tube like packaging with white cap on it. I personally didn't like the packaging. The dispense of the product is not controllable. Although it is travel friendly.

Winner for the packaging is WOW face wash.

Cleansing property :

Aroma magic face wash is a decent face wash and does not make the skin dry. Although it does not remove the makeup properly. So you need to use a makeup removal first and then use this face wash for the best result. If I talk about the fragrance of the product, I am not a big fan of it. It will irritate sensitive nose for sure.

WOW face wash also does cleanses face  nicely and you will see a slight glow on your face after using it. To my surprise, it works so well in removing the makeup without even stripping off the oils of the skin. Also your face feels super duper clean. It does have a strong smell, which I like. The fragrance will remain for sometime even after washing  the face with it.

Winner for the cleansing property is WOW face wash for me.

Most effective DIYs for great hair

One thing we always neglect is how good home remedies can be. And how effective they really are. We can make easy DIYs at home using ingredients that are always available around us.
So in this blog I will be telling you guys about very easy hair packs/masks that I have personally used and have seen the results. These DIYs have also shown effect on many of my friends as well.
Lets get started with the great DIY hair packs/masks.

DIY Hair Pack for Instantly Smooth and Shiny hair:

Ingredients Required : Eggs, Honey, Preferably Olive Oil(if not coconut oil or any oil of your choice)

How to make it? :

• Take one egg if you have short to medium hair. Two eggs if you have long hair. Separate egg white from the whole egg and take it in a bowl.
• Take one teaspoon of honey and two tablespoon of hair oil of any choice. I prefer using olive oil because it suits my hair.
• Mix all the ingredients really very well.
• Apply thoroughly to your hair including scalp and tips of the hair.
• Leave it on for exactly 20  minutes.(Don't keep it on for long as it will make your hair dry).
• Wash it off with you favorite shampoo and conditioner.

And trust me guys, you will experience soft and silky hair in one go. This DIY is my holy grail hair pack. You can use it once a week. And the results will be amazing.

DIY Hair Pack for hair fall and hair regrowth:

Ingredients Required : Onion, Honey, Hair oil of your own choice(I prefer Olive Oil)

How to make it? :

• Take one onion and grate it completely. Then take a piece of cotton cloth, put the grated onion on it and squeeze out the onion juice. So basically we require onion juice for this DIY.
• Mix one tablespoon of honey and one tablespoon of hair oil in the extracted onion juice.
• Mix all the ingredients really very well. And apply it all over your hair including scalp and tips of the hair.
• Leave it on for good 30 - 45 minutes.
• Wash it off with your favorite shampoo and conditioner.

It can be used weekly once. I have seen great results of this DIY. Hair really grows long and it also tends to make hair black. One con of this DIY is, the smell of onion can stay for one day even after washing the hair with shampoo. So, if you don't want it to happen, just stand in sunlight for 10 minutes and the smell will be gone.

DIY Hair pack for deep conditioning of hair :

Ingredients Required : Indian Gooseberry also called Amla Powder.(Click here to buy), Curd

How to make it? :

• Take 2 tablespoon of Amla powder if you have short to medium hair length or 4 tablespoon if you have long hair length.
• Add curd to the powder in order to make a runny paste out of it.
• Apply this paste to the entire hair length including the scalp and the tips.
• Keep it on for good 30 - 45 minutes.
• Wash it off with your favorite shampoo and conditioner.

You can use this hair pack once a week. And after one use only you can feel your hair to be softer than before.

Disclaimer : Home remedies or DIYs do tend to take time to show results which may vary from one month to three months. You have to be consistent and use it religiously to see the difference in the hair texture. But they definitely work. I myself have personally tried all the above three hair packs and they work wonders for my hair. I have also tested these hair packs on many of my friends. And they have also seen great results out of it.

Review on Good Vibes Brightening Face Mask

Let me start with a riddle - 'I stay on your face for sometime and after I am gone, you end up looking fresh'.
Can you guess the product?
Yes!! You are right. Face Masks :)
Today I am going to review Good Vibes Brightening Face Mask.
Lets get started.

Price and Packaging :

Priced at INR 225 for 50gm (Maximum time it is available on offer. I got it for INR169)
It comes in a dark brown glass jar with a sturdy golden color cap. The jar feels quite heavy and it does look luxurious.

Claims by the Product :

• Removes impurities from skin
• Leaves skin bright and glowing
• Rejuvenated dull and tired skin

My experience with the product :

Let me start with the main ingredients of the product which includes Kaolin, Liquirice Extract and water melon extract. It is completely organic in nature. It is white in color which feels super smooth on skin.

I use it twice a week. I basically scrub my face with my favorite exfoliator i.e. Biotique Bio Papaya Tan removal scrub. After that I apply toner and then a thick layer of Good Vibes Brightening Face mask.

I keep it for 15 minutes and then wash it off with clean water and it comes off really easy.

Coming to the claims of the product, it does rejuvenate my skin and my skin looks super clean and fresh. But I didn't notice any bright and glowing effect as it claims.

DIY Body moisturizer

Hello Everyone,

Smooth, hydrated, moisturized skin is what each and everyone of us desire for. And many of us end up spending so much on body butters, body lotions, body moisturizer and many more things. But I have found a substitute or DIY( Do It Yourself) for it.
Before we get started with the DIY, let me tell you guys about my skin type. I have very dry skin. It tends to get patchy in winter.

Ingredients:

• Glycerin
• Rose water(Gulab jal)
• Lemon Juice
• Aloe vera gel
• Essential Oil(Optional)

You can easily find the above mentioned ingredients in the general store or medical store near you. But, I will also put the online links to buy all these ingredients at the end of the blog. 

How to make it?

• Take equal amount of glycerin and rose water in a container.
• Add two-three drops of lemon juice.
• Add one tablespoon of Aloe vera gel.
• Add two-three drops of your favorite essential oil( My favorite is Lavender essential oil). This step is completely optional.
• Shake the container well and your DIY body moisturizer is ready.

You can store this moisturizer in the plastic container for good 3-4 months.

Disclaimer:

• Please do a patch test before using this moisturizer.
• It might feel a little sticky on the skin, but once you get used to it you will not feel the stickiness at all.

How to use it?

• After taking shower, take the moisturizer in your palm and apply thoroughly to your entire body.
• You can also apply this on your lips if you have really dry and patchy lips.
• Even before going to the bed at night, you can apply this moisturizer.

Benefits of using this DIY Body Moisturizer:

• Glycerin helps in completely moisturizing and hydrating the skin.
• Rose water also known as Gulab jal is useful in making skin look fresh and glowing.
• Lemon juice helps in brightening of the skin.
• Aloe vera gel as we all know is so great for our skin. It moisturizes, hydrates, make skin glow and what not.

My take on this DIY Body Moisturizer :

Honestly, I have been using this moisturizer since 15 years now. Yes. You read it right. 15 years. This was introduced to me by my Mom. Ever since I have started using this, I never went back to any other body lotions. It instantly makes my skin moisturized and hydrated. Additionally, you don't have to reapply this again.

Also, my feet tends to get really dry and patchy in winter and summer season. What I like to do is, I apply this moisturizer and wear socks for two-three hours. Voila!! My feet instantly feels so hydrated. Of course the cracks don't disappear instantly. But with regular usage you will see the effect in 3-4 days.

I recommend this DIY Body Moisturizer to each and everyone who suffer from dry skin problems. Use it daily religiously and trust me you will never regret.
One more benefit which I have noticed is that it does make the skin a little even toned and also has helped in brightening up my skin. Obviously, it takes time to get the results.

So, here I am. Bringing to you guys a review on OGX Quenching+ Coconut Curls Shampoo.
OGX stands for Organix Beauty which is a US based brand. They have wide range of hair care products. One can easily find products suitable for their hair type.
Lets get started with the review.

It comes in opaque white fat bottle with a golden flip cap. The plastic used for packaging is quite sturdy and does feel luxurious. The flip cap helps in controlling the right amount of dispense of the shampoo. Hence, minimizing the wastage of it.

Claims made by the product :

My Take on OGX Quenching+ Coconut Curls Shampoo :

I have curly and frizzy hair. They become even worse in hot and humid climate. So, I started using this Coconut Shampoo since it's mentioned that it is specifically made for curly hair. 

The shampoo is opaque white in color which has not so runny texture. It has slight coconuty smell which doesn't last at all. It just vanishes once your hair is dry.

When it comes to the ingredients list of the product, it is quite attractive. It is filled with goodness of coconut, honey and lemon. And we all know what good all these products do to our hair. Coconut helps in making the hair smooth and frizz-free. Honey adds that extra moisture to hair. Lemon helps in deeply cleaning the scalp and making it fell fresh.

Coming to the quenching of the curly hair part, YES, it does it's job quite well. My curls looked much more manageable and frizz free. Although I like straightening my hair after every hair wash. But after using this shampoo, there were days when I liked my curls so much that I even skipped on hair straightener. Which by the way is a huge huge thing for me.

One bottle of this shampoo lasted for good 4-5 months for me considering I wash my hair 2-3 times a week.

• Sulfate free
• Contains less chemical
• Good for curly hair
• Make hair frizz-free
• Brings slight shine to the hair

Review on Schwarzkopf Gliss Hair Repair Cares and Protects

Maneuvering flat iron, hair dryer, hot air brush etc. has become one of the essential part of our lives now a days. Everybody wants to have perfect hair each day. But every rose has its thorns.
So, here I am reviewing one of the very important product which should be, I cannot emphasize more, should be included in our hair care routine.
It is Schwarzkopf Gliss Hair Repair Cares and Protects. It is a Total Repair Heat Protection Spray.
See my very honest review below.

Price and Packaging :
It retails for INR 550 for 200ml of the product.
It comes in a golden color bottle which has a spray nozzle in it. The spray is not that fine to be honest. You really have to put a lot of effort when it comes to spreading the product though out hair strand.

Claims by the product :

• Heat protection up to 220 degrees Celsius
• Smoothing & Frizz-Reduction up to 24 hours
• Protection from moisture loss

What I feel about the product?

This is my first ever heat protection mist. I do have curly and a bit frizzy hair, which leads to use of flat iron so much. I have to confess that in due time it has made the texture of my hair thin and rough. When I first received this product, it took me a while to figure out how to open the nozzle. Its a bit tricky to open it.
Coming to the usage part of it, it is said in the direction that once your hair is completely dried out then spray it evenly on your hair and go ahead with the heating tool.
I have been using it for 3-4 weeks now and I am really happy with what it does to my hair. After spraying this when I use the flat iron, hair becomes straight quickly and also frizz free. There is no static energy or anything in the hair. My hair do feel more voluminous.
